This statue stands on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. Standing 50 feet high, this statue is built out of stainless steel. Built by artist laureate Dale Claude Lamphere, it was built to depict an Indigenous woman in Plains-style dress receiving a star quilt. According to the artist, "Dignity represents the courage, perseverance and wisdom of the Lakota and Dakota culture in South Dakota. My hope is that the sculpture might serve as a symbol of respect and promise for the future."

The statue was erected in September of 2016 just off I90.

Though not all see it as a good thing. The Teton Sioux (Lakota Peoples) have said, "To me as native, I find this statue offensive. It symbolized the assimilation my relatives endured under the catholic church. The quilt symbolized the quilts my ancestors were forced to sew for the church to sell for profit. They got federal contract plus land with the US government to assimilate my people. So that money wasn't for us."
